Default Union ... Conso outlet

Hello...a few years ago I was in Union and went to the Conso outlet there. I am wondering if it is still there or if it has closed?

thank you for any information...

Hello, I am going to Union this weekend and will let you know if I see the "Conso" outlet. What do they peddle? Is it one shop or a mall type collection of outlets? Do you recall the general location?

That is very sweet of you....however, it is off of the highway coming from Spartanburg and you kind of have to know how to get there. I couldn't give directions would have to drive it. It is/was a manufactuing plant/outlet.

BUT if you get the chance to ask someone if the Conso plant and outlet are still there I would appreciate it very much.

Conso makes and sells trim, braid, tassels etc.

Thank you AlleySal !

It appears to me that Conso (now: Wm.Wright/Boye)...has gone the same route as the rest of the textile industry that was once here in SC?

Mfg./Production is located in India and China..while the distribution center is located in TN

Conso

We lived in Spartanburg for a few years, left in 2000. Go back to visit every couple of months...I85 is a nightmare...but there is almost everything you could want as far as shopping, restaurants etc. Spartanburg keeps growing, more and more shops popping up...I used to take 29 to Greenville rather than I85, a much more pleasant drive.

Don't have anything good to report about the school system at that time, hopefully it is better now.

LovetheCarolinas, sigh, very sad. Did not know Conso was bought by Wright. There is nothing apparently in SC at all...very sad as you say, used to be a great textile area.

Back from Union,
Didn't see the Conso Outlet. I asked one woman about it but she didn't have a clue. Said she'd been in the area about 5 years.
Seems that the above post is accurate. Textiles have moved out of the area. The HUGE Dollar General distribution center and the Disney distribution center look to be thriving in the area. I heard that Disney has an outlet there but I didn't have the time to check it out.
