Default Moving to Florence, don't know where to rent

Hey Everyone!

I just finished school at Clemson University, what I consider a safe, cozy little town, and am moving to Florence (I'm originally from the Northeast) which because of the high crime rate and sketchy areas is making me really nervous. I visited Florence quickly for an interview, not really knowing whether I'd get the job (I did) and checked out a couple apartment complexes but Bentree which I liked doesn't have any apartments when I move.

Now, I'm sort of at a loss as to where to move. I keep getting different lists of "safe" apartment complexes but they contradict each other and what I experienced while I was there. Does anyone who lives there currently have any suggestions?

Does anyone know anything about Palmetto Gardens Apt or Stonehedge? I asked for some info about them too.

Any help you have would be amazing.

Thank you,

Sarah

Congratulations on graduating from college! Any of the apartment complexes in West Florence should be fine. I would suggest you look into the Powers Properties apartments on south Cashua Street (843-667-4900) or Habitat 2000 apartments on Parker Drive (843-669-2246). These are only about a mile from Bentree apartments.

I believe the Palmetto Gardens Apt. are located near the "5 points" intersection (Palmetto, Cherokee, and Cashua streets). There are several nightclubs in that area so the likelihood of vandalism to your car increases.

I rented a really cute townhouse in Oakdale that was managed by Aiken & Company. Oakdale is a nice area, but there's (or there was) only one road out which can be a bit congested.
