Default Thanks for the info

I plan to move to Charleston so all info is helpful.uote=Laurasnuthouse;68410]We are here a week and there are sooo many things I would never think are different but are living in SC. My girlfriend and her family are moving down here within the year (waiting for house to sell) and when I tell her some things she says she's glad to learn it now before they get down here.

1. In SC you don't go to the corner and make a left...you go to the corner and TAKE a left
2. You will be here 2 days and find yourself talking with a little twang in your voice ..but refuse to admit it
3. If you go to the local pizzaria to get a chicken parm hero...you will not get breaded cutlets with mozzerella on a hero... you will get... plain chicken cutlets with onions, peppers, and mozzerella on a hoggie
4. They have WHITE cows here in SC
5. Garbage pick up is ONCE a week
6. LOTS of worship channels on tv
7. There are SLUGS everywhere
8. Lots of areas do not have the package with cable, internet and tv yet
9. Bi-Lo food stores does not have a selection ANYWHERE near NY/NJ standards.lol.... I did find sausage at Publix though ..THANKS! The canned tomatos...2 choices....Ricotta...2 choices..Bread crumbs.. 1 choice and all are very small containers.lol.
10.Do not go under 1/4 tank of gas when you get here... you NEVER know when you will be on some winding road and your gas light will be on and every gas station you pass will be closed for the night

Those are some of my thoughts for anyone who is moving to this area.. it doesn't apply to everyone...some people might be used to this but coming from NY we are not.[/quote]

Default loved S.C

I just got back to Canada last night after spending a week in South Carolina. I drove down with my mom and my two kids. I loved every minute of it, the drive down through the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia were breathtaking, it was the most relaxing trip I have ever taken and would love to live there. The people everywhere were pleasant. Bluffton and Hilton Head was awesome. I always made sure I had more than half a tank of gas and I was fine. Shopping was good, Starbucks was everywhere the beach was 20 minutes one side of me and Savannah 20 the other side...how does one get to live in such a picturesque place WITHOUT being illegal
