Kind of surprised to see Sumter so high on the list. Wonder if that has anything to do with Shaw AFB.

no clue. have always wondered why sumter high school is so large. for a city its size the enrollment does seem a little large, especially when you consider that not every kid in the city goes to sumter high.

Interesting that 4 of the top 11 schools are in Spartanburg. And they must be including 9th grade in that... because I've heard multiple times that there's only about 1500 students at SHS in grades 10-12. Unless that number's about 500 off?

The reason why Sumter high school is so big is for the fact that all students that live in Sumter itself have to go to Sumter while everyone that lives outside of Sumter goes to either Crestwood and Lakewood. This only gives Sumter County 3 high schools.

It's odd to think of Carolina Forrest as the largest school in Horry County since it was carved out of Conway, Myrtle Beach and Socastee attendence areas. Or to realize Conway High is smaller than it was twenty years ago.
And Bejeebus- the schools around Spartanburg are large.
I also didn't fully realize just how many more students were in Summerville than all the other parts of Charleston.
