Wow, you really know how to pick the smallest towns don't you. I had to look on the map for these. To be honest I know nothing about any of them. But from what I would guess they are pretty much in the middle of no man's land. Hemingway said it was 50 miles from Myrtle Beach and 80 miles from Charleston. Russellville looks like it is way out there above Moncks Corner near St. Stephen. Allendale is home to one of the state prisons. Once you get past the cities and larger towns it gets pretty desolate. Remember this is the South and SC is not a very progressive state. Most of your little towns are not going to have much.

Every place you listed is really small - Hemingway is tiny, Russellville barely qualifies as a 'crossroads'. Allendale has 4,000 people. All the places are at least 1 hour from a city.

Allendale is in a very depressed part of the state. I wouldn't recommend living there. Your more progressive places will be the larger cities and the areas surrounding them.

Hi,

Try looking in to Boiling Springs, SC, I've been very happy about what I have found, great schools, nice area, near shopping, housing prices are excellent.
