Hey there, i'd love somewhere to be like Glasgow, Scotland its very vibrant and has everything you could possible want. It has unique restaurants and a terrific bar scene which i like. Bearing in mind i would need to stay close to a major airport for work purposes
Isn't Charleston expensive to live in? What is the crime level like?
I loved Charlotte though, it seemed nice

Charleston and Greenville are very nice towns. Charleston probably has more to do for a younger couple. I live just outside of Charlotte, in Fort Mill, SC so I get the benefits of SC (lower taxes, better schools, etc) but am still close to Charlotte. Unless you live downtown (which is very expensive) in any of these cities though, you won't be able to walk to many places like you can in Europe. My neighborhood has some restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance but it is a planned community and there isn't many of those. You can find areas just outside of the city though that is much more affordable so you will just be a short drive away.
I would personally stay far away from Myrtle Beach.

Visit Charleston SC, Greenville,SC and North Myrtle Beach,SC. There may be some discussion , but, these three towns are the best places in the world to move to. Visit, take the Carriage ride, rent a car, check out Reedy River in downtown Greenville, walk on the Battery in Charleston, and watch the "shaggers" dance at Fat Harolds on main st in North Myrtle Beach. Then take the one you fall in love with.

Thats sounds good, im just looking for a place to live that is not a city with tons of hustle n bustle but has character and pleanty to do for a young person like myself. Whats wrong with Myrtle Beach? I loved it there.
I do like Charlotte though but i'd like to live outside there, which states in the southern part of the US have the lowest taxes? Is that good or bad?
Could i live a very good life on a starting salary of $20,000 per year and my boyfriend on $40,000?
I dont really know alot about America to be honest but im looking to have the characteristics of Glasgow in Scotland i like 20 mins drive from Glasgow which is a massive city, i live in a small village with lots of beautiful countryside and hills.
Whats the difference between NC, SC, GA,TN, KY, CO and Texas? These are states that i am interested in but moving to areas close to a major airport for my job
Sorry for the long post...

I was young once , bars were alot of fun. That scene gets old fast, so hope you won't choose a place because of that. There are so many things that are much more important. I haven't been to a bar for over 20 years, no time for those now.

So glad you thought to tell her about this; as soon as you mentioned it, I thought, "Yep, that's what she needs to do!" Good job!

I have one word for you. HUMIDITY!!!! I am a native South Carolinian and the humidity is a killer. The upstate is a little less humid than the coast, but far less an enjoyable life style in my humble opinion. If you were looking for a close approximation to Scottland I would reccomend the northwest states.
