Default Any BAD spots in North Augusta?

We are thinking of moving more to North Augusta then to Aieken because we can get more house for our money. My concern is there bad areas in North Augusta that we should watch for?

Little background of us... moving with 2 daughters that are 9 and almost 13. Safety with a some kids nearby would be nice.

Thanks for the help!

I would recommend Aiken over North Augusta (for obvious reasons) but also because the crime rate in Aiken seems to be lower. With North Augusta being so close to Augusta, GA you tend to hear more about crime in the NA area on the news- particularly robberies. Also, in NA you have to be wary of the "Irish Travellers" who are, by reputation, con artists. There are "bad spots" in every town, and I don't know North Augusta well enough to tell you where they are. But really, if you plan to move to Aiken anyway, I would go ahead and do it. If you want some place in between, I would suggest Beech Island or Warrenville, though if you can get a place zoned for Silver Bluff High, they are the best HS around (I didn't go there so I am not biased!! lol)

Aiken is a little more condensed (in my opinion) than North Augusta so you don't have to go as far to get to different places. I think NA tries to be too much like Augusta, while Aiken is a town all it's own.

Default moving to North Augusta

The city is nice. We actually have a home for sale in a subdivision off the main Rd (Martintown Rd) There is a wonderful tree covered Greenway for walking and riding. Schools are great in the city and have an excellent reputation. It's a good place to raise a family.
Need a 4 bedroom house with great room, email me!

north augusta is ok is convient to downtown augusta. Aiken is a nice little town, a little to slow for me. I would north augusta just because its more to do being closer to augusta, & not having to drive from aiken. All the malls are in richmond county augusta mall, the new river watch opening in 09, even the forum will be on walton I-20. You would have to drive atleast 25 to 30 mins as oppose to 10-15 in north augusta
