I'll bite.

Crime. Crime is not an issue in Spartanburg or surrounding towns.

Spartanburg is a nice small city. It has a growing arts, music community. No traffic problems. The areas north and east of Spartanburg are very rural. The busiest areas are the stretch along I85 between Sburg and Greenville.

Cowpens and Mayo are communities - no real town. I don't consider them relo destinations as there is very little there. The Mayo area does have a new lake.

Chesnee is a tired, textile community. Most of the textiles are gone. My cousins run the local Chesnee Hardware.

Pleasant places around the Spartanburg area might include Rutherfordton (my home town), Campabello, Tryon and the city of Spartanburg.

You might want to post this in the Greenville-Spartanburg forum. Not everyone goes on the state-wide forum.
