[SIZE=2]The state dept friday morning released data pertaining to the 135 day enrollment counts for all public high schools in South Carolina. 135 day enrollments are based on average daily attendance after 3 quarters of a school year. now if you go to the website they won't have the data laid out as nice and neat as i have it below. had to organize myself some.

notes - one of the schools is simply listed as Richland 2 School with an enrollment of 1,200. I'd heard about a 5th high school being built in R2. Guess we know now it's official and how big its suppose to be when it opens apparently.

also Wren HS outside Anderson, SC has a significant drop in enrollment. thats because they calculated in the fact that Powdersville HS is opening this August and will immediately draw kids away from Wren who live in the immediate Powdersville community. had anderson 1 not built powdersville hs then wren hs would be the largest high school west of greenville county.

Why are some private schools included? I saw Christ Church and St. Joseph's.

because the high school league needs their data to realign the 4 classifications. every 2 years the 4 classes are realigned based on this info. Bishop England, Christ Church, Southside Christian and St. Josephs are the only private schools in the state that belong to the SCHSL.

As a Blue Ridge grad, I never thought I'd see the day when Blue Ridge was bigger than Greer.

I read about the new enrollment figures in Rock Hill's paper, The Herald. With South Pointe opening in Rock Hill and Nation Ford in Fort Mill, as well as York Comprehensive not growing as quickly, the chances of a York County region went away. Now, the possibility of all the teams, and Lancaster, qualifying for AAAA again, it may finally happen. Should be pretty exciting!
