Default Edgefield, SC --considering a move there

Hello,
I am considering a move to Edgefield, SC -- my question is...are there any equestrian facilites within 1/2 hour? I presently live in VA and have been very spoiled by the convenience of horse activities.....tack shops, shows, barns, instructors & trainers, etc. I've done a ton of searches on this but have come up empty handed...I thought this area was suppose to be a horse mecca? Thanks for any information you can share!

Nearby Aiken is well-known as "horse country" in SC, but I have little knowledge of anything similar in Edgefield. Edgefield is a cute tiny historic town with lovely old plantation homes, but mostly surrounded by former farmlands instead of horse pastures. Hopefully someone from that area can help you out.

Aiken perhaps was the spot you were looking for. Tons of horse activities all year. Polo, local horse shows, spring/fall steeplechase. You will find every type of horse/breeder/vet/business in the Aiken area. Also, if you just enjoy being out on your horse the entire town is built around a 2000 acre preserve call Hitchcock Woods. They do fox hunting from sept-mar (I am not sure if I am 100% correct on those months) twice a week. I just moved from that area and really enjoyed my time there.
