Default Myrtle Beach, Columbia, Greenville, or Anderson?

Hi my name is Zara, I am a sexy single 22 year old ready to mingle, lol. Anyway, I am moving to SC next month so I can be closer to my family there, but they live in some small town and I want an urban-feel city, GREAT airport, great shopping-dining, and FANTASTIC night clubs! PLEASE HELP!

I think Myrtle Beach would be best for you, big city-feel, lots of fun stuff to do, the beach for instance, fantastic international airport, and great clubs such as the attic, also teriffic shopping and dining such as Brodway on the Beach. I've lived in MB for 5 years. Also I lived in Greenville-Spartanburg area and loved it also a great urban-feeling city but not as good as Myrtle!

Myrtle Beach is all tourism. Doesn't feel like a real city to me.

I assume from your post that a job is not a priority. If you'll need to earn a living wage, that pretty well rules out MB. It's a fun place to visit but IMO there are better places for 20-somethings to live, unless you enjoy partying with the college crowd or the swinging-60's. The airport bldg is nice, but flights are very limited, particularly during the off-season.

Charleston or Columbia would be my suggestion, but once again, it all depends upon whether you need a job, and if so, where you are fortunate enough to find one.

Is Charleston an option for you? I didn't know since it wasn't in the thread title.

I would probably rule out Anderson based on your criteria.

Anderson's a nice TOWN, Myrtle Beach is a fun place to VISIT, Charlston and Columbia are indeed nice cities with what you are looking for, but IMO Greenville is the best choice because it goes above and beyond the criteria you've listed. 8)

Charleston. Great airport, great beaches, 7 day a week party downtown, literally. Dining and shopping hard to beat there also.

Just don't live anywhere north of the peninsula. Crime is horrible up there.

True, Charleston is a great city, but I was really supprised at the crime statistics for both Charleston and North Charleston..

Myrtle Beach isn't all tourism thank you. I was born and raised here and has a very happy and active local core.

Please continue to visit Broadway at the Beach, the boulevard, Walmart, and all the other local places that give you such a sense of city.

When I think of a city, I think business center. Like I said, Myrtle Beach is a great place to visit, or retire to.
