Need some more Info on SC (Charleston, Greenville: sales, home sales, live in)

Hi all!

We have made the decision that we are for sure moving to South Carolina. But my hubby says not for at least another 2 years so we can get a good price on our home. My question is how is the housing market out there? We have been looking into Greenville/Spartanburg/Boiling Springs areas and I am afraid if we wait too long the housing prices will sky rocket. I appreciate anyone's feedback on this.

In the last six months I have seen it go up $20k-$30k in some areas.

I have heard that house prices are going to plummet soon. I read it in a local paper, but it referred to the average home prices across the US. I cant say for sure that they will go down in SC in the next 2 years, but just thought Id put my pennies in.

Thanks for all the info everyone. That was a good article. I guess I will just have to keep praying that it does not get too expensive. My hubby also wanted me to ask about hurricanes. We have never lived in an area where there are hurricanes how far inland do they go?

Hurricanes? If you live in the upstate of SC you'll get some rain but you'll be a 3-3.5 hour drive from say Charleston. No need to worry.
