hey
guy from london england here , can t decide wether to move to north carolina or south carolina
if i decided south what are some of the best places to live with a young family, i dont wanna be in the middle of nowhere if u no what i mean
There are many options in both states that are great places to move with a family. I would consider a few questions. What size city would you like? Would you prefer to be along the coast, mountains, lake etc.? What type of job do you hope to find? What are your recreational interests?
i have visited both, but not many place only as a soccer player travelling thru to play college games, id prefer to be close to a town where there are many bars restaurnts and shops. being close to a beach would be nice something like wilmington.
as far as jobs go, im currently looking at getting into soccer coaching if not then i have worked in advertising/marketing/sales. but would be willing to try something new if sounded good
If you want to be close to the beach, then I'd recommend Charleston. Non-coastal options would be Columbia and Greenville; bars, restaurants, and shops are plenty in each (as well as Charleston--especially Charleston).
I agree. Charleston sounds like a good fit for your interests. You mentioned Wilmington, and I like Wilmington, but it does not have as much of what you're hoping to find.
Between NC and SC, Charlotte is the biggest. Charleston, Wilmington, and Savannah, GA are the historic coastal tourist towns, with the most fun stuff to do. Columbia, Greenville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Raleigh are all relatively fun, have better job prospects, and are not so expensive.
We have a bit of England here in Greenville, SC. While it may not seem like much, at least you could enjoy an English meal and tea anytime you like. We do actually have quite a few people in the area who have immigrated from the British Isles as well as many more from all over Europe, Asia, South America, & etc...
You may also wish to check out the International Center of the Upstate (broken link), which is located in downtown Greenville and has been very helpful to many international immigrants over the years.
