Default florence south carolina???

We are currently looking to move out of our NY suburb and my hubby is talking to a company in the Florence area. Who can give some feedback on best places to live? We are looking for a fairly new development of homes (we are already living in an old home- don't want another), great schools(kids ages 11,6,3), low crime (area we are in now pretty quiet), nice people!! If it wasn't for the ridiculous taxes here probably wouldn't think about leaving but we are working just trying to keep one step ahead and instead fall 3 steps behind.Would appreciate any and all advice!!!

I would try the search function on this board and search posts that mention florence sc. (There are others in other states.) Also Search posts of SC schools and look at realtor.com for homes. Although I do love SC, I have only passed through Florence on the way to a race at Darlington.

West Florence has the best neighborhoods and public schools. Look for homes zoned for Sneed Middle School and West Florence High School. There are plenty of new subdivisions going up in that area. Although these are the best public schools in the area, you will probably want to enroll your children in one of the many fine private schools in Florence.

I lived in Brooklyn for 35 years and relocated to SC 7 years ago. Being from the hustle, I wanted to find the quietest place I could and I did. I still can hear The IRT and the buses in my head from time to time. You might want to look on the outskirts of Florence (Lake City, Effingham, Pamplico. ) I hope you have the city out of your system and do not want excitement on a regular.
