Default Cost of homeowners insurance in the Hilton Head area?

We are looking at NC & SC to retire.

Just read a thread in the NC forum about HO insurance rising 2 to 3+ times, where some are now paying $2,500- $4,000 for HO insurance.

How is it in the Hilton Head area, to include town close by on the mainland?

Thank you,....marc

Marc, I am in upstate SC, just south of Charlotte, in the Lake Wylie area and my home owners policy is about $425 per year on a home that has a replacement value of about 200K. I know as you get closer to the coast the cost goes up a bunch. You guys might want to check out the Del Webb community in Lancaster County, SC. It looks to be a really nice community. We have alot of retirees in my community...check it out at mysunsetpoint.com.
