Man Eats Cocaine From Brother's Butt, Dies - Bakersfield News Story - KERO Bakersfield (http://www.turnto23.com/news/30037563/detail.html - broken link)
Now we got Alshon Jeffrey swingin punches in a bowl game. I say get some sportsmanship classes going at Carolina. I don't want my son thinking fightin is ok on the field.
He never swung the first punch. Swinging a punch automatically gets you ejected. He shoved after finally losing his patience with the leech he was carrying around all over the field on every play. The leech is the only one who swung a punch. Watch the replay.

All that matters is that both guys participated, and thus both were ejected. Doesn't matter who starts it.
The only thing that occurred that called for anyone to be ejected automatically was the Nebraska player's swinging fist. That's not to say the ref didn't have the leeway to make the decision he made. I just can't see how the refs ignored all the clinging, jersey-pulling, knocking and riding that the Nebraska player was guilty of the entire game up until then. I guess Alshon had had enough.

Dude....a college athlete who gets tossed from one game in his career should not embarass SC. In today's world of college football, while not acceptable, this is a minor deal to worry about.
Alshon should have walked away. However, the referees should have not allowed it to get that far. There were countless replays of the DB hitting & holding Alshon 10 yards downfield.
I went to many a game while growing up in Columbia, and SOUTH Carolina (the real Carolina is a bit NORTH) has a history of being roughneck. Players thrown off the team for guns, a quarterback who could only see the bottom of a vodka bottle, starting a brawl on the field with Clemson, a coach pissing on the street and this fistfight. Roughneck, thuggery, hoodlum have all been words associated with the great history at SOUTH Carolina. The gentlemens schools in South Carolina were always CofC and Citadel for the city gentleman and Clemson for the country gentleman. South Carolina got the thieves, mutts and roughnecks.

Maybe it doesn't embarrass you, but it does me. Its not the kind of role model athletes ought to be. I want my son to learn to win with grace and lose with pride. Throwin punches in a national bowl game is just sorry.

It is what it is.......these are college athletes that get emotional in games. It's not right but, not enough to embarass a state. Charlotte & North Carolina were not embarassed when Steve Smith kicked an opponent in the head, most realize that these are no reflection on the state.
