Default Small living in South Carolina

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone can give me the names of a few good small towns in South Carolina. I want to move from North Carolina to South Carolina. I'm looking for a town that has good schools & low crime rate. Please let me know. Thanks, Dachshund Mom

Summerville
Aiken
Camden

I'm partial to Summerville b/c I live here but all 3 are great choices. Check out Dorchester II schools - some of the best SC has to offer. About 20-25 minutes from Charleston.

Need more info. on Summerville - let me know. I've been here all my life and work for local gov't. I love introducing people to our "Flowertown in the Pines."

Default What I'm looking for in a small town in SC

Hello,
I'm looking for a small town that has low crime, good schools, but maybe an hour or so from the ocean. I would love to live in the country. We are wanting to move to South Carolina by Christmas 2006. How are the taxes in South Carolina ? Are they alot like North Carolina ? Are the people friendly in most places? Since I moved to North Carolina 2 years ago, From Michigan, I have not been happy. I have found that North Carolina has alot more gangs, S.. offenders, rotten schools and the people here are just so rude. I was told that South Carolina is a much nicer place to live. Thanks

Hey, i live in a quite small town. Moncks Corner, SC. It has a population of around 6000+. And in the last 50 years, 1 murder. We have a Wal-mart, and your basic grocery stores. It is a great, small quiet town. The kind of town, where no matter where you go, you see someone you know. The true meaning of Southern Hospitality. I'm only 16, so i'm not to sure on the taxes here. It is only 2 and a half hours from the world renoun Myrtle Beach, and 30-60 minutes away from various, smaller beaches. If you move to this town, you will not regret it. The bad thing about South Carolina is the weather. You have hot summers, around 95-100 peeks, with cold winters...with know snow If you want a town that won't make you frown, you need to come this way.

Default High School Credits

Thank you for responding, But I have a question for you. How are the High Schools there ? My son is in 9th Grade and up here. in his school they have a 4 block credit system. Is that the same down there. I wouldn't want to move and have him lose High school credits. Thanks

What part of the state is Fort Mill In?I am hoping to re-locate by next summer to SC from Ala. Ready to get back to a friendly state. Looked at Beaufort this past summer. I liked it there? But open for any suggestions. I like the Clemson region also.

Fort Mill is up by Charlotte. You'd be hard-pressed to call it a small town, right now it looks more like a suburb of Charlotte. You may want to try Aiken or Camden, or some of the other suggestions like Moncks Corner, or somewhere farther up in the upstate like Clemson.
