Hubby and I live in SC, but I worked (and now get unemployment from) NC. Has anyone who does this filed their NC state income tax return as Married, Filing Separately? If so, did it save you anything?

I'm using Turbo Tax and when it calculates the NC tax is it basing it on the federal tax return that I've filled out for our joint return, and although it is not using my husband's work income in the calculations, I'm concerned that it might be using interest or dividend income as part of it's calculations. I ONLY want to pay my fair share of my wages and UE, as none of my interest, etc. was earned from NC. I don't really want to pay to have someone do it just to find out that it won't save me anything.

Any thoughts on this?
