Come on Red, that's a little low. The Charlotte boards are fine, come read them sometime.
To be honest, I am not sure what you meant. You asked if size was the only thing that matters, I think my response showed that here are many elements that matter. Civic pride makes a lot of noise but, it would not pay a dime towards an NFL team.
Tell me this, why are folks called haters when the only crime is not wearing a "Greenville conquers the world" hat? I get civic pride, but I also get that there is a real world. Greenvilleis a nice place and most folks could live there very happily. Most folks could also live in Charleston or Columbia very happily. I am not sure why I get discounted for asking questions that are relevant. You have a lot of people in Greenville who think that the world ends at the county line, and that's fine. But, I lived there most of my life and can tell you that there are great places outside of Greenville. Why is that a crime?

I guess it's a crime the same way you carry on when Greenville is mentioned. You put lots of energy into it, but does it matter? No. Never did I say anything about our civic pride landing a NFL club. That's you not reading word for word, and assuming. You know what happens when assume something. Turn off your emotions.

Let's not warp people's words, or begin to speculate that ALL of Greenville thinks that it needs NFL.

I assume the word warping comment didn't have anything to do with my post. If S.C. ever does get a pro team, a centralized spot in the state would draw from a population of over 4 1/2 million people all within reasonable driving distance.

Red, not sure what to say. I think I am level headed with regards to development and metrics, including Greenville. I know I don't always wave the Greenville branding banner but, I don't do that for Charlotte either. ALL cities have challenges, the ones that recognize the challenges and work the problem are ahead of the curve. Like I said, civic pride is one thing, reality is another.
As for assuming, can you be more specific as to what you meant? There were a lot of sentences but not a lot of meaning.

I was speaking of assuming I meant civic pride would land us a squad. That's not even what we are after. Panthers are my team, have been from their start. Anyway, I apologize for getting out of hand. What we are doing is creating a unique place, and I'm so happy to be apart of it

Only a few places in SC have actually HAD NFL teams play in their city. The Panthers, of course, played their 1st year at Clemson. USC has hosted some preseason games. And Charleston once had many NFL games at The Citadel's stadium, including one in which Jonny Unitas and the Colts came to town. Also........former Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis spent a few years as an assistant coach at The Citadel.
Nowhere in SC is big enough for an NFL team. Virginia Beach is the 38th largest city in A merica and they got no chance. LA, the 2nd biggest city, doesn't have one. Cincinnati doesn't have one. Memphis doesn't. Orlando doesn't. Salt Lake City, Portland, San Antonio..........the list goes on. We're lucky to have the Panthers. They are the team of NC/SC, we can't support any more.
I've also noticed a few who think the world begins and ends near the Reedy River.

Did the Bengals move or are you just inferring that they're typically so bad they can't be considered to be an NFL team?

Carolina Panthers are centrally located in the middle of the Carolina's. Play in NC and practice in SC. Sorry suckers. I think we have our only NFL time for right now
