"Revolve" around it? No. Just supported by it
Most people here barely even consider Charleston part of South Carolina. They kinda act like Charleston/Myrtle Beach areas are so different than the entire inland part of SC that they are in the same state only according to a map. I suppose it's sorta how people from Austin, TX, are. They say Austin is amazing, just dont go outside Austin cuz then you're in Texas. Corny, yes. But thats how many in Austin and Charleston are.

He wasn't saying Charleston was "the best of SC," so there's nothing to agree with.

Seriously, people need to get over the heat thing which applies to a nice chunk of SC actually (I grew up in Orangeburg County and it was hellishly hot in the summertime too) but Columbia takes all of the flack for it because it's the biggest city in the region. In the grand scheme of things, it's really just not that big of a deal.

Dallas has drawn more new residents than anywhere in recent years and it's hotter than Columbia. If you can't stand the heat get out of the South.
