I was shocked to find out a few years about that South Carolina exports more Peaches than the "Peach State" called Georgia...lol....unless it's since changed....I wonder if that fact still holds true?

I Too am from Chitown
In response. My wife and I are both from the Chicago area. We moved here 14 years ago and have no intention of going anywhere. I actually work in Charlotte and live in upstate SC. With this arrangement, I have a competive income in my field and pay lower taxes than if I lived in NC and way less than Chicago. For instance, I pay less than $1000 a year in property taxes. I have 5 acres of land in a rural area and my home was recently appraised at $200k.
Some people do think the cival war is going on but, I would take that any day for the gang lands of Northern Illinois.
No place is perfect to live. However, I have raise 2 children, both with college degrees and good jobs in SC. I have spent time in many places in the ithis country and around the world and I still choose here.

Right on! Besides, the only reason people find that flag offensive is because the KKK used it for their own purposes. And while I do fly the Southern Cross I also switch out with the Stars & Bars as well as the 3rd National Flag of the Confederacy. A lot of people died trying to save Dixie, and while they may have failed we still have every right to honor them. And even as the vast wave of new development, and transplants threaten to erase our Southern heritage, I will continue to glorify what is, and will always be Dixie!

Wow!
I know this issue opens a huge can of worms that usually gets everyone uncomfortable but I find the flag (and you all know which one I'm talking about) highly offensive (It's like raping my mother and and saying hey its cool because its something that happend in the past, and its heritage now, and why are you so upset by that anyway its only your mother, get over it). I guess because it is an ideology of a time when it was legal for my ancestors to be treated, bought, and sold like livestock, or property (what was it black slaves were considerd 1/3 or 2/3rds human), and yes idiots like the kkk, neo-nazis, and other like minded individuals who have adopted the symbol/flag to support it and deliberately state that this is who we are and we make no apologies and if you don't like it then its your problem.
Trust me I understand that the US has a very deliberately racist, and unethical past (to put it lightly), but in that same breath in certain areas it did try too right its wrongs, however I just don't understand how it can be so widely supported and taken so lightly. Very few things get me from 0-60 in a heart beat but that is definately one of them.

Well, if that gets you from 0 to 60 in a heart beat, then this will probably get you all the way to 100. You like attacking the Confederate flag. Well! What about the US flag? Black slaves were bought and sold under the US flag, never the Confederate! And what about the Blacks who actually fought for the South?! I bet you never read or learned about that in school because that would undermine all this liberal, one-sided approach by the politically correct in our society! Black people from one family or nation would sell members of rival families or nations into slavery! Look at the continent of Africa today in many of it's 54 countries. Black governments slaughtering thousands of Black country folk and honest, every day people over there! You can't blame that on White folks! What about the Ancient Egyptians who were Black Africans originally? They used Whites as slave labor as well which is a documented fact! You don't hear me complaining about that and demanding reparations! I'll fly my Confederate flags until my dying day and if it offends somebody, good! I'm all for stepping on toes, ruffling feathers, getting people's dander up, and causing controversy!
It offends me that Black people can go around calling White people honkies, crackers, peckerwoods, white boys, and lepers all in the name of comedy or anything really, but let a White person call a Black person a ni**er (I won't call it the "N" word until people start calling cracker the "C" word!), porch monkey, jiggaboo, coon, or spearchucker and you'll have stop production, apologize, go to court, apologize more, pay damages, apologize more, have your career ruined, apologize more, go on public talk shows and apologize more, and it keeps on going! It's foolish! In a society where people make fun of everything and are as vulgar as you can get, making fun of God and Jesus, and turning every sacred thing into a debased anecdote. In a society where it's no holds barred in the speech arena and where anything goes, people want to sneer and act as if saying "ni**er" is offensive! How stupid! That's like that old saying, "you strain at a gnat, but swallow a camel." Black people use it all the time although it's pronounced "ni**a" instead but it's the same darn thing!
Back to the Confederate flag. It's pride to me and most I know. And thousands upon thousands of Floridians proudly display Confederate symbols throughout the state. Even Florida's state flag symbolizes the Confederate flag! If people don't like it, then don't buy one or look at it! But I'm sick and tired of Black people, well, people in general, whining, whimpering, sniffling, puttering around, and blaming their own prediciments on White folks and the Confederate flags! American Black people are some of the top money-earning people in America-sports, music, endorsements, whatever! Quit bickering and moaning, and go do something productive!

Again I’ve heard, & read, it all before. Yes constantly time after time the American flag is always brought up in the discussion about how it is liable for the deliverance of slavery too this country again that is why I already cited and have acknowledge that in my previous post, and when slavery was actually established here it originally began as "indentured servitude", and at that time the "states" were colonies (I don't know, the United States wasn't official until about 1776 or something like that?). What does being "liberal or conservative" for that matter have to do supporting the treatment of human beings as livestock, I'm not following? Do you honestly believe blacks willfully fought for the right to be treated subhuman and less than equal?
"Black people from one family or nation would sell members of rival families or nations into slavery! Look at the continent of Africa today in many of it's 54 countries. Black governments slaughtering thousands of Black country folk and honest, every day people over there!"
I am familiar with the history of the middle passage and the Atlantic trade routes infact it is why my family ended up in this country, but again what does that have to do with them being legally treated less than human once they arrived here?
"What about the Ancient Egyptians who were Black Africans originally? They used Whites as slave labor as well which is a documented fact! You don't hear me complaining about that and demanding reparations!"
You speak about Egyptians as if you were a descendant of a Greek, or Roman slave living in present day Cairo? If any exists in this present day or time (Greek or Roman descendants if that's who they were?). Apply it to approximately 200 years after being treated as livestock as we live in this day and age in the United States and ask them how they felt about the whole thing when they see an Egyptian symbol or ideology.
"I'm all for stepping on toes, ruffling feathers, getting people's dander up, and causing controversy!

I don't refer to such name calling and useless insults to step on toes, ruffle feathers, or inflame discrepancies! There is nothing that can be done to me or my family that we haven't already endured.

Again is this your strongest counter? Stop bickering (stop complaining about how bad you black people have it, and do something productive?) Are you serious?

It's amazing how many white people there are who think they are so familiar with the black experience. How enlightening.

We see Chinese or Asian people every day everywhere we go and think nothing of it.
We brought them here to America basically as slave labor to work on the railroads.
They died in Virginia City mines digging silver and Gold for the white Man and were never aloud to burried in the white Mans cemeteries. some died IN the mines and were left there as were the mules that hauled the ore carts.
Their little girls were used in the brothels [cribs] for the miners to use.
They were not allowed enter shops through the front.door, but instead ahd to enter in the rear.
They died by the thousands across America working for the White Man and lived in horrible conditions.
In Virginia City they had their own section of the city called, of course, China Town, where they made money from the White Man.
Some spoke a broken English type of language, but basically made themselves understood.
They were some of the hardiest working peoples anywhere.
They could lay one mile of railroad track in a day, which was a record for that time and what did they get for their labor. Damm little, but they kept at it and ALL STUCK TOGETHER AS A RACE with a GOAL in mind. MONEY. And look at them today.
They have blended into the woodwork of American society. So much so that we hardly notice them as they pass us on the street. Their population in America is larger then you can imagine and the wealth that they have amassed is unbelievable. They have earned respect in the white mans world through shear will and a desire to overcome their past history of treatment.
They are no long just CHINKS! ....WHY?
The America Indians, who we have renamed NATIVE Americans to be politically correct, had their country Stolen by invaders, bent on the conquest of a new land.
They were, in some cases, SLAUGHTERED to the man to gain possession of these new lands. But they ended up living in squaller on lands that were barely able to support them. You can still see the reservations today in the west and they live poorly even today living on the handouts from, dare I say, the Government of the White man. There are those tribes who have risen above the rest though, even to owning Casinos. The white man is in back of them though, using their name to gather wealth.
When the White man bought the Island of New Your for $15 dollars in junk jewelery, the joke was on them. They thought they got all the trees and bushes with the deal, but instead found out that the Island was solid concrete. HAHA.
Other races have fought against adversity and have risen above it in this land of opportunity, where others have not.
America's richest FEMALE on record is Opera Winfrey. Why?
There are Black actors and sports figures who have made it in spite of the White mans attitudes. Why?
I myself idolize James Earl Jones for his acting ,but foremost for the way he SPEAKS. In Star Wars you didn't even see him, but only heard him, and he demanded your attention.
Why can't others copy these well known and respected people of their race?
If you want to blend into any society and gain more respect you have to copy them as best you can. Learn from those who have MADE IT and figure out how they did it.
If you want to be different and have people point fingers at you for acting silly then go for it. If not, then you have to try to BLEND into the wood work.
Black history is full of famous and successful people, but they are ignored by us now instead of being copied.
To use and old flag from a bygone war as an excuse is lame.
Use the present day flag of your country to raise up and show what you are REALLY capable of, and not how low you can go.
I want James Earl Jones as President for the powerful way he speaks and the way he presents himself. The world would tremble when they heard him in aan angry mood. LUUUUK, I am your FAAAATHER.
Gives you goose bumps.
"Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it".
Now back to our movie, "Debby Does the White House".

If I had to guess, I would say that probably black people care about the black experience. I feel sorry for anyone who is devoid of empathy. Don't tell me what to think or what to care about. Your opinion really is not that important to me.

It must be pretty empowering to be able to sit in the comfort of your own home and type away insults and allegations at somebody that you have never met and know nothing about. Quite the esteem booster, huh? Anyhow, I'm done. Have a pleasant life.
