We are considering relocating to SC .We now live in Fl. Our house is for sale but so far no prospects. We find properties on Realtor.com but when we call the listing agent they seem disinterested and don't follow up on their promises to get back with us to give further info .We want to visit but don't want to come unprepared. We want to be able to look at various properties and locations in the Iva,Starr area. I suppose they don't need the business.Has anyone had this experience?

Yes, I had a similar experience last fall when looking. I e-mailed listing agents about 17 properties. I got very few responses. I ended up working with a Realtor who took the time to respond to let me know that the listing that I was asking about had just been sold, but offered to compile a list of similar properties for me to look at.

While helping friends poke around I have also discovered that just because an agent works for the biggest office in town does not mean that you will get the best service.

My advice to you would be to search for a Realtor who you can work with, and let them do all of the legwork.
