They are. Charleston city has 50 or so fresh out of the academy starting this month alone, with more to follow. Other local agencies are also in new hire mode.

That's funny!!! It's the 1st thing I thought of when I saw this post.
We had three trips thru there in Sept/Oct and we saw more cops in SC than the other three states combined!!

They aren't too bad on the interstates but in the small towns there is usually a cop at each town entrance...just waiting.

Some areas that I'm aware of being speed traps:
Latta, Dillon, Scranton, Coward, Chesnee

I'm sure there are tons more but these are some of the busiest that I know of.
