Horry County sheriff's officials say they expect the mayor of Atlantic Beach to turn herself in on an assault warrant.
Atlantic Beach's only police officer, Sgt. John Jackson, signed the warrant on Friday accused Retha Pierce of assault and battery third degree.
Sheriff's Sgt. Jeff Benton says Pierce is expected to surrender Monday.
Sheriff's officials say Atlantic Beach Councilwoman Carolyn Cole filed an assault complaint against Pierce last month.
There was no answer to a call early Monday to Atlantic Beach Town Hall.
Pierce was found guilty in July 2011 of resisting arrest and was ordered to serve 18 months of probation for an incident on Christmas Day 2007.
