Default Orangeburg

What's going on in Orangeburg that has (what seems like) half the country moving there?

What leads you to believe this? I don't think that Orangeburg is growing any faster than the rest of SC.

Might be related to the universities. Hopefully more people will be looking into Orangeburg County once the big distribution/manufacturing hub facility gets underway. A projected 5,000+ jobs could be created upon full buildout in about 20 years.

The county has a grand opportunity to become what of the largest metro areas in the SE if it plays its cards right. The city of Orangeburg needs to step up and aggresively annex and push its population to 45,000 or more and annex valuable land towards its interstates, I-26 and I-95. The region could spread from Columbia to Charleston if its planned right

There's nothing going on in Orangeburg, don't move here, it's high crime, poor area with no jobs and bad schools and it's boring here, nothing to do and we don't want our property taxes to go up. Move to Chicago, LA, NYC or Charleston. It's also too hot, too sunny and too many forests, in the middle of nowhere and thankfully not enough development here. On the other hand I think it could be the best location for a low profile, quality city and a software, hi-tec industry, highly skilled white collar companies, central location, near mountains and the coast, good hot climate, but so far it is high crime, poverty etc. and the best biz is made by churches so far, so it's best to stay away.
