In a bind. Saw this thread posted elsewhere but it appears it's gotten no attention lately. I apologize for re-opening an old conversation and starting it new.

Bought my house in 2011. My property taxes have nearly tripled. I was unaware of a 4% tax that it appears I may be eligible for.

Anyone with info on the subject?

Need to get something done else wise I may end up having to sell and I do NOT want to do that.

If it is your primary residence, you are definitely eligible for the 4% residential rate. If it is not your primary residence, you are stuck with the 6% rate. Contact your county assessor or treasurer's office and they can provide you with the forms to fill out to get the residential rate.

Thank you! It is my primary residence. I've now found the forms online and prepared to take them to the assessors office first thing Monday morning. This has been a lifesaver for sure.
