What are the good and bad areas, communities and neighborhoods for a young family to raise their kids? We are from California, now live in Seattle and are moving to south Carolina for Boeing in 2014.

I've read a lot on here about what is good and bad but it all is 5+ years old

What's it like now? What is there to love and hate about that area? Is it walkable with young kids? Are the bugs and humidity out of control and if so, for how long of the year? Tornados? Crime? Lay it out for me peeps.

You should probably re-post this in the Charleston Area Forum. There are many walkable neighborhoods. You might want to do a real estate search and ask about specific areas you find in your search.

Als, Give more information please. Are you looking to rent or purchase? What price range? That would help to let you know which neighborhoods are the best fit for you in Summerville. Not too many bad area's. It's a real nice place to raise kids.
