Gee... the same thing could be said of the hordes of invading illegal aliens. Having illegally entered our "state", the U.S., they're doing their level best to force their language(s) and cultures on us. Some of them even have advocacy organizations that endorse the Reconquista, or annexation of large parts of our country. I would hope that the same people who are bent out of shape about the CE folks would feel the same about illegal aliens, for the same reasons...

I love the idea of political relocation and started a thread on the subject generally, and for that reason I even love Christian Exodus, though I despise fundamentalist christians in general. If Christian Exodus convinces them all to go away from my town and move to Greenville SC then GOOD RIDDANCE. That would enable many other places to fund abortions and actively encourage homosexuality for overpopulation and the environment.
Since I have no intention of moving to Greenville SC then any fundamentalist who moves there is out of my way.

hmmm, sort of like Massachusetts, the people didnt get the right to vote for or against gay marriage since the court illegally made it valid--with out the consent of the people.

they didnt invade SC, they moved to SC just like yankees do everyday--we didnt invite them they just came. They have a right just like anyone else to move to another state, buy property and live as they choose within the law--the hippies do it on communes, the Californians did it to Oregon and Washington and Arizona, and the New Yorkers and Bostonians did it to Florida and Vermont.

so the Exodus are free to practice as others do

They are definately free to practice as others as long as they don't force their brand of Christianity on others. I could see forming a commune and they would still have the right to vote as anyone else. I am however suspicious of using politics and legalisms to spread the word of God. Love and example I feel work better. Also I don't like how many Christians polarize into these camps of Conservative and Liberal or other either or categories. Truth and Love are meant to go together not to be mutually exclusive.

As for the comment on overpopulation I strongly disagree with that. Tokyo may be overpopulated but Wyoming, Montana, Mongolia, Kansas, and Canada are not. There is still room for more people. I don't think homosexuality should be encouraged or discouraged its just the way some people are. I feel it's in God's will for some people to have kids while some are meant to focus their energies on other things. But everyone has a purpose.
Also the comment on encouraging abortions is an example of what fuels the paranoia of fundamentalists.
***Coincidentally when I was at Mass this weekend the priest was mentioning religious fundamentalism in his homily. He was saying how a lot of it spreads through a fear of uncertainty. I know that some people search for a perfect religion or ideology to have the answers to everything and to let them know exactly what groups of people are their friends and who are their enemies are and to have the security of having every situation in the complicated world to be interpreted in black and white...Even secular people can be "fundamentalist" about their ideologies.
Now I do believe that there are some absolutes I'm not against absolute truth per say...and I understand it is only natural to search for truth in the midst of confusion, but fundamentalism has always had a tendancy to lead to fear and sometimes hate of anyone they don't understand, divides people, and causes many people to miss the forest for the trees...

Equal rights are not something that should be "up for vote". The last time I read the constitution it said ALL men are created equal, not just heterosexual ones.

I have wondered when someone would bring up the CE group. I am a native, born and raised here in South Carolina and I have been following this group with interest. Not because I fear them nor because I support them. I don't feel God intended separatism.

My only question was ... why us ... why South Carolina? Is it because we led the pack in December of 1860 and left the Union? Is it because we had the confederate flag flying for so long over our state house? Or could it be we are backwards and sort of dumb and like sheep we will jump aboard Cory Burnell's bandwagon ... even though he is directing his bandwagon from the left coast (California.) It seems Mr. Burnell planned to relocate but his employment deal fell through when said employer realized Mr. Burnell was affiliated with CE (see Anderson Independent newspaper 7/07.)

Not many people are aware but in 1983 Islamville, SC was founded in York County SC just off of Hwy.49 ... this compound has been there almost 25 years now. The name was changed from Islamville to Holy Islamville when the organization claimed miracles have been witnessed at the location such as "Allah" written on the walls and a message written by "Allah" in a rainbow just after a rainstorm. This group is within 5 miles (as the crow flies) of the Catawba Nuke Station. Will this group have to move out of South Carolina or will we have a holy war between CE and the Muslims?

I don't lose sleep over any of this, I am a Christian, blood bought Child of the King Jesus Christ. I am not holier then you, I am a simple sinner saved by the Grace of God.

Click Here Holy Islamville (broken link)

After the secession ... who's gonna be President of said new country ... does President and other officials have to be members of CE ... will we return to burning the infidels at the stake ...

Just remember boys and girls .... Don't Drink The Kool-Aid!
