I know I wasn't the one who said this but I would never give that man any respect. At least not until he gives respect to this country and the Flag.
Senator Barack Obama, Governor Bill Richardson, Senator Hillary Clinton and Ruth Harkin stand during the national anthem.
Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)......the article said he REFUSED TO NOT ONLY PUT HIS HAND ON HIS HEART DURING THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, BUT REFUSED TO SAY THE PLEDGE.....how in the h@ll can a man like this expect to be our next Commander-in-Chief????

Where did that photo come from? In this day and age, I can create a photo showing Dubya playing spades with Obama in a cave in Afghanistan, but that doesn't make it so.

That same article also says sometimes he does have his hand over his heart, sometimes he doesn't. Even so, there's no way in the world that I would withold my vote from someone just because of one stupid picture where he didn't. I bet Dubya does it all the time, and look at the mess we're in now?

I'm not a fan of the Pledge of Allegiance anyway. If we have to be indoctrinated by repeating a pledge everyday then we aren't very good citizens in the first place. I haven't decided who I will vote for yet, but the fact that Obama does or doesn't place his hand over his heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance is unimportant and what is this statement supposed to mean? "Barack Hussein Obama's photo (that's his real name)"; what does a name have to do with someone's ability to lead the country? I want our next prsident to be someone that can get us out of Iraq, balance the budget, protect the rights of all Americans equally and ensure that most people have an opportunity to make a living wage and afford good health insurance. Worrying about something as minor as the Pledge of Allegiance is ridiculous.

I got to say, after the speach Romney gave today, he's won me over. Any concerns I had about him aren't an issue any more. I think he is the leader we need right now. He's got proven leadership by bailing out the Olympics and by fixing a lot of what was wrong in Massachusetts. He was able to cut taxes in MA even though he had a super majority of Democrats in the state legislature. None of the candidates are perfect but at least right now my money is on Romney.
I would never vote for a Democrat as long as I live. All they do is raise taxes, gut the military and intelligence, and have sex scandals in the white house.

Politics makes strange bed fellows.
How about we elect 3 Presidents. 1 left, 1 right and 1 center and let them battle it out.
Religion should be left out, because we all believe differently to some degree.
Candidates will say one thing to get elected and then do what ever they want later.
Our enemies would like nothing better then to divide us against each other and while we are bickering over unimportant things they will simply walk in.
Be ever vigilant.
Ask yourself, what does this candidate have to offer and what does he or she have to gain by becoming the leader of our country.
Choose wisely for the sake of your children's furtue.

Well, as a newcomer to these boards I have to say this thread is definitely deterring me from moving to SC. It was someplace that I had been considering for several reasons, but after hearing some of the ranting going on in this thread, I think I'd better stay away.
I'm a person who firmly believes in live and let live. I try not to impose my beliefs on other people, and expect them to do the same for me. I get along with everybody -- as long as they don't try to convert me to their brand of religion or enforce their religious ideals upon me. Sadly, several of the people posting in this thread frighten me, they really do.
I'm glad I read this thread. You have some scary people living in SC.

The Democrats have absolutely nothing on the Republicans when it comes to recent sex scandals. At least with the Democrats, the scandals are between two consenting adults of legal age.

You're making a big mistake if you take this board to be representative of the entirety of SC's population. The best thing you could do is actually visit the place in SC you're interested in and go from there. And I'm sure you can find people in the state you're currently located in, or other states you're interested in, that fit the same "scary" mold.
