Akehnaton is the only one here who is actually speaking with sense.
If you dont like Christian principles or politics fine, but then you have to understand why people dont want others moving here either. |

Where in the constitution does it say anything about Christ, Christian, or anything remotely close to the Ten Commandments? It doesn't. That is because there is seperation between church and state. Anyone who thinks that this nation was founded on "christian principles" is a liar. If our founding fathers would have wanted it that way they would have said just that. "This is a christian nation and here is our constitution." It totally ignores Thomas Jefferson's letters to Tripoli in which he specifically states this is not a christian nation. So you wonder why I think you are "nut jobs?" You don't believe in this republics founding document, and you want to overthrow it and put in place your ridiculous bible that you don't even believe in. If you want more proof that there are a lot of christian nut jobs out there (like anyone needs more proof) check out this movie http:/www.jesuscampthemovie.com/
In this trailer for the movie listen as the lady talks about Palestinians. She doesn't say they are wrong she says we should learn from them and become terrorists ourselves. Remember Eric Rudolph. These people are crazy. No I am not from NC, but I hear about this stuff and no one believes me these people are out there and it scares the living **** out of me. Jesus please save me from your followers. |

Boy, what a bunch of spew. You say, "these people are out there and it scares the living **** out of me." Why? if you don't think they will take over SC or that their "nut jobs" why be scared? Perhaps deep down you do believe they will gain SC that's why your scared. I pretty much ignore all of what you said. And take offense to your comment "Anyone who thinks that this nation was founded on "christian principles" is a liar." I think you need to do some more research my friend. ![]() Lastly, with folks like CE in power in SC it will be much better than what is there now, or in the federal government for that matter. People don't like this idea because they are afraid all their perverted habits will be taken away. I say good let it happen. ![]() |

Yes, please come and show us backard and ignorant South Carolinians, with our "perverted habits", how to live. We have "folks like CE" in power already, by the way. |

The truth is that anybody can read whatever they want from these documents... You can find sites supporting the Xian argument...the atheist angle... The United States was borne from (among other sponsored adventurers) a great number of those who wished to escape persecution for practicing that which was considered blasphemous, heretical or otherwise traitorous in their homeland. However, the writings of our Founders are clear (no matter where you read it from) in that there is not ONE lone religion recognized nor only one acceptable god and that this 'protection' is not exclusive. I myself am an atheist, however I find the argument that an Oath as pledged was not aimed at belief in a higher power greater than Man to be wishful thinking...that does not keep me up at night. I recognize the Republic as one that can make State-by-State determination based on the majority of voters (if you don't vote, don't complain to me) and if there were an outstanding issue that I found steadfast and unacceptable - without the promise of compromise, I would not live there. But with that said, I do not approve of the idea of 'taking over' any state with a movement influx for one purpose or another. NOT MINE. NOT YOURS. That is an invasion and...rude. http://www.archives.gov/national-arc...stitution.html http://www.archives.gov/national-arc...claration.html Feel free to walk your Xian feet around as long as you don't step on my Secular toes. No more witch trials or Inquisitions, please. Have a wonderful day! |

The leaders (Fred Phelps, and his daughters) of the Westboro Baptist Church are crazy like a fox. What they really are, are lawyers, and lawers of the worst kind. They are no different than the ACLU or CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations).
I listened to these two ladies for about 1/2 hour on one of the AM talk radio shows. The host had to agree to let these lawyers talk on his show so that they would not show up at the funerals of Amish families after some of them were killed by a crazy man. They got what they wanted. They spouted off about sin and were real good at quoting bible verse. But, what they were really expert at was knowing how to use the law to extort radio and media time to "get their message" out. Just like Cindy Sheehan, CAIR, and the ACLU, the Phelps will manipulate the legal system and use human suffering to preach their twisted religion. As far as I'm concerned the Phelps sisters are no better than the sleaziest Personal Injury schisters that get on TV trying to get anyone who ever scratched their pinkey to abuse our legal system and sue anyone even remotely "responsible" for scratching their pinkey. An educated schister can quote bible verse with the best of us, perhaps better, but that still doesn't make them anything more than morally bankrupt, over-educated schister-lawyers. |

Mr Anonymous is full of ****.
South Carolina is anything BUT 'very heavily Christian'. As for people not being quick to 'jump on Christians'..... I moved to SC as part of CE, but quickly found out there was nothing C about the E, so I dissolved my ties with the group. However, my sunday school teacher had seen my TV interviews, and made comment to them in SS class. From that point on, NOBODY wanted to have anything to do with getting to know us. We left that church, and visited another one. During our 8 weeks of visiting, we said NOTHING to ANYONE about CE. We went to SS, Wednesday evening, kids in youth group, joined their 'supper club', and their home groups. We were preparing to join this church when I invited the small group leader and the youth group leader over for dinner (via e-mail). They saw my signature line to my webpage, which still had references to CE. The response I got from the small group leader was this - I spoke with the pastor regarding your involvement with CE, and we want nothing to do with that movement, or people involved with it. When I responded that I was no longer affiliated with the group, and if they had taken the time to get to know me that would've become known, the response was - we wish you the best in finding another church. I was in SC for 18 months, and during that time I only met ONE person who was a native SC who was 'ce-friendly'. And unless I wanted to spend time attending political meetings, they wanted nothing to do with me. Moving to SC was a great learning experience.... being a part of the CE movement was even greater. |

My point isn't to persuade you that Christ was inclusive -- that would be futile (as would be any effort to convince me Christ wasn't). But given that this forum exists for telling people about SC, I think it's fair to let people know that CE hasn't taken hold here. It's also fair to say that some of your negative comments about the state are born of a bad but peculiar experience. |
