thanks, sport, that really clears this whole discussion up for me.
Maybe I should move to Utah or Michigan, or whereever you're from, and declare that: "I am here for the purpose of taking over your state, changing your laws, and I don't give a **** what you think about it."
I bet the people there would love me.

A.
first, your information states you are from NC, not SC.
second, do you know what a democracy is?
Look at San Francisco. Large population of homosexuals who have successfully influenced the voting and changed things in their favor.
Utah - try to open a non-mormon church. Good luck.
People of like mind moving to an area to change the laws is nothing new.... in fact, that is the way the USA was founded!

i'm a South Carolinian, by law. If I choose to stay here longer, I'll eventually be a North Carolinian. But, how is this relevant to CE?

Yup, and the United States is not a democracy, it's a constitutional republic. From what I can tell, CE wants to change that into some type of Constitutional Theocracy.

You are approaching this whole thing as an issue of rights. No one is claiming that you "don't have the right" to move here and change the laws.
My point, which you have completely missed, is that you shouldn't be surprised when your former quasi-cult isn't welcome in South Carolina. Maybe some people like it, some people don't. Count me as one who doesn't.

Furthermore, I find it ironic that you compare the founding of the U.S. to the Christian Exodus. The original immigrant Americans came to the "new world" for religious freedom. CE wants to restrict those same freedoms of South Carolinians and Americans.
If you want to travel down that road,
You could compare Christian exodus to the "oppressive white man", who wants to impose his restrictive views on others.
And you could compare native South Carolinians to the native Americans, who fought to keep their way of life the way it is.

big chuckie, what is so crazy about them? i think they have a right, just like anyone else in this country to move wherever they choose and to move as a group if they like--that is not unusual at all.
I would join them but I havent heard whether they accept black or Interracial families especially since they moved to upstate SC. I still dont think they are crazy, but i dont judge them.
I dont think they are any more strange than Yankees who want to move to Florida or SC for retirement--let them come !!!

Carolinajack, "I would join them but I havent heard whether they accept black or Interracial families especially since they moved to upstate SC." Absolutly, anyone who a Christian is welcome. We are not only moving to the upstate, other areas will follow. See [ www.christianexodus.org]

Sooo, how exactly would this affect Carolina Jack as a resident? (Yes - it would unless minority members have exclusionary privileges.)
I have not found a proposed resolution to this specific issue online, so I am coming right to the source.

CE will not get very far in SC, that's for sure.
If you ask me, it's a borderline cult; it's using an entire state as its compound.

No, it's not a "borderline cult" at all. It falls well short of the traditional definition of that.
Again, I find it ironic that folks are so worried about them "taking over" but then say it will never happen. If y'all don't think it's a big deal, has no hope of success, will not happen, etc. then why be so worried about it? Going back to an earlier post, "maybe deep down inside you do think they will succeed"
