Carolina Jack - have you overlooked the possibility that your life as a minority would be completely altered if the 14th amendment was overturned? That your status could then be returned to that of less than a whole person - as it was prior to the amendment? Or that you might again face segregation? How far back in history do you want to go? How far back do THEY want to go? Please research before you make such a decision. I have not yet heard this answered.
This is what the CE is in want of doing - a stated mission, for whatever reason, will diminish your presence as a voter, as a MAN, because you are not "white". Where that actually leaves you, I don't know.
Also, please again revisit the post above which quotes 'Marks' opinion of a black presidency...that isn't something I conjured up - it is right there on that political thread...I wasn't even looking for it but it seemed fitting to bring over here since he said you'd be welcome. It seems the offer is limited in generosity. Perhaps there is something he left out that could better convey his post one way or the other.
I would like to know what the official opinion of the CE is concerning the status of minorities (and women, traditional roles being desired) since a determination would have to be made.
Marks - really - I'm asking for a fair discussion - come on back and explain all this.

I am not sure what you are referring to about the 14th Amendment, are they against the vote or against blacks having the vote? Can you tell me where they have stated this.
I understand what Mark means, we dont vote for a person based on the color of his his skin but rather their ideas of leading this country, their personal character and integrity. So i wouldnt vote for a black President, but rather a good President.

CarolinaJack, you have nothing to worry about. I would encourage you to visit the website, e-mail the president with any questions you may have, or join the discussion forum and ask all the questions there.

Thanks Mark, i will. I am sure that others would hate to be judged or attacked for what is not really what they believe or said, so i like to get the actual position from the person or group and not somone elses opinion who might have a prejudice or an agenda.

wait a minute, in what Christian Exodus believes is that racial and nationalities of all kinds will be treated fairly and equally and there is no racial discrimination. Then why are these people attacking your organization, i dont see anything in it that can or should be wrong.

CarolinaJack, I'm not sure By the way FYI it's not my organization--I'm not the president and founder. I know of CE and was thinking about moving to SC, but plans change.

I'm not attacking. I am asking for clarification...
Marks never revisited that thread to explain his stance even after he was asked by another poster. Sure - he could have meant it several ways...I just wanted him to assure me that it wasn't as harsh as it sounded. It left a pregnant pause behind it.
Since he ain't talkin' to me, maybe he has sufficiently confirmed with you that his intent was not to suggest what the comment could all-too-easily be taken as. If so, my apologies to Marks for thinking otherwise - for everyone here to see.
I can't find answers to a question that seems reasonable to ask - not here, not there. I went all over that site trying to find a resolution to the possible fall-out from repealing the amendment. I did not see an article which addressed how minorities would be LEGALLY classified if this protection was removed. Same? Reclassified? Am I to assume that everyone will play nice? Yes - this COULD affect your right to vote, to work (to get hired or fired) or to speak freely...it allows for a chain effect that could turn from a simple 'everybody for themselves as long as they're with us' to 'us but not you'. I'm not pro-affirmative action, but I don't want to see (through deception or lack of forethought) a door opened that allows someone to close the one you are trying to walk through. Understand?
Read the 14th amendment for yourself. Determine how it applies to you. That would be your responsibility as a citizen.
Good luck with that.
I'm done here.

His name is Barack Obama. At least give the man the respect he deserves by citing his name appropriately.
And if Obama decides to run, he will get my vote. He articulates a vision for this country that needs to be embraced.
Sowell? What has he done politically?

I just finished reading it, and some sections I would agree with the CE on in the 14th Amendment, especially the issue of allowing immigrant children born in this country immediate citizenship status, for the soul purpose of then getting a free education and healthcare.
I am not clear on what it would do to blacks today if it were repealed as the 13th amendment freed slaves and the 14th was used to combat black codes. I think I could debate that, but I dont think that it would make me anymore a defacto slave than what an enlarge federal central government would do under the liberal socialist agenda of today.
