Furthermore, just because you may have had these experiences in one particular city in SC doesn't mean this is how things are in every other city in the entire state, and vice versa for AR. I'm pretty sure I can find testimonials of people who have had worse experiences in AR, but does that give me the right to post misleading information about the state?
Whatever.

I just thank GOD that I am no longer living in SC. OK??!!

Where did you work?

Thanks for your imput.
I believe(happy Akhenaton06??) that taxes in SC are cheaper than in Maine, and the weather is warmer.

We found the people in SC to also be *somewhat* warmer than those we encountered in Maine. However I am basing my experiences on one city in each state (well, maybe two - working in one and living in another).

We also found the use of foul language to be much higher in ME, than in SC.

I worked at BCBS in Maine, and lived in Windham.

The + for Maine, it has the best foliage I have seen in any of the states I have lived in, including Virginia.

The Greenville/Spartanburg area is 'good ole boy' area. Most IT jobs (again what I found) if they are not filled by overseas people, they are filled by someone who the manager knew & worked with in the past.
Your statements aren't accurate. In fact you seem to be quite bitter.

Doesn't sound too different from what it is here in California. In fact, the company my husband works for (and it's HUGE) won't even look at you unless you are either absorbed by outsourcing or have a connection inside.

Of course, I'd never move anywhere without a job lined up (in writing). But that's just me.

Sounds like *every* IT market in the US. SC is no different in this case.

Default Every reading an education . . .

I had to come half way across the country to encounter blatant racism, hear the "n" word, and try to get a job in a state that has made teachers unions illegal. Wow.

I went to the website for CE, read the pages, checked out the links. South Carolina is a wonderful example of everything that is good about this country. Those who subscribe to this ideal can leave one state to settle here, exercise their right to vote for those who agree with them, and work for generations to change the basic social culture of a great number of people.

While those earnest people are working so hard, the Military will continue to assign people, with the attendant families, to this state. The military group will bring in other beliefs, faith, thoughts, money, and they will also choose to exercise their rights or not. The military dependents will demand housing, education, and freedom of worship, same as the CE.

It's a wonderful process, this coming together of divergent philosophies. Some sparks may fly, but hopefully, the result will be a stronger Union with greater tolerance for individuals and a return to courtesy and good manners.

Welcome to South Carolina CE!

I'm not sure I understand your post. I realize a visit to their fluffy website might generate warm fuzzies, but CE is not about tolerance of others. Homosexuals -- not tolerated. Immigrants -- not tolerated. Non-Christians -- not tolerated.

Oh, and all the military stationed here -- will they remain if CE devotees succeed in repealing the federal income tax? Or seceding from the Union? (See http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=38571)

I guess what I'm hearing from your post is that you are a welcoming person. Me too. I just ask that those I welcome to my home reciprocate if they choose to make it theirs.

Again, as I stated before, some of you sound so scared as if you really believe CE will take over SC. Many of you must really believe it will happen.

Thumbs up CE in SC?

Wow! I am a born-again Christian and proud of this fact, I don't care who agrees with me or who disagrees, we have that right to believe what we wish to believe and to not has the beliefs of others foisted upon us. This is what our country was founded on. I do know what my Bible tells me and I do know that there are very few of us living according to these precepts, myself included, but I also believe that God will in fact sort it all out in the end. This is my right to believe this
The CE, by stating that "we are violated in our right to life... our right to liberty..." are in fact violating the very rights each person has in the US. They seek to violate our very right to our personal choice by "taking over SC". This country was founded by people seeking freedom from religious persecution, this seems to be what the CE was organized to do. Persecute those who are excercising their constitutional rights. Maybe they need to find an island somewhere and run their own little country and be completely self-sufficient, certainly our US products and services would be unwelcomed by a liberated 'nation'.
I've lived in SC for 7 years now, we are prior military so we've sampled the four corners of the US and while SC is a sweet natured state, the people I know aren't very open to change. They have lived the same way for generations and enjoy their way of life. This may be one reason so many native SCarolinians stay put, its a good state and crime and jobless rates aside I don't think we have much to fear from some upstart organization thinking to change our way of thinking.
This is my humble opinion on all of this, I may be wrong or I may be correct but its ok because its my opinion.
