Any info on the schools there?

Summerville is within Dorchester 2 School District. Great schools. We live in a neighborhood called White Gables (29483 zip code) and my daughter goes to middle school within this district. We even have a wonderful public middle school for the arts. There are so many different subdivisions to chose from that I couldn't begin to list them all.

And no, it's not a bad part of town.

Here's a link to the district: www.dorchester2.k12.sc.us

The good schools and good housing are two reasons we have so many families relocating here. Here's a few more:
1. Close enough to Charleston to visit, but far enough to avoid costly hurricane insurance.
2.Same distance for the beaches. About 30-45 minutes away, depending upon traffic.
3. Summerville retains a small town feel, even though the area is quite large. There's a wonderful downtown historic area with restaurants, boutique shopping and even an old fashioned pharmacy with a soda fountain.

If you click on this link, and go to Photo Galleries, you can see the Christmas Tree lighting and the lights all along Main St. It's really charming.
