Hello all,
My family will most likely be relocating to SC in the fall from Connecticut and are trying to locate a good area. A good school district is most important to us as we have a son going into second grade and a toddler. We were looking at the Clemson, Seneca, and Salem areas. Although I would take other recommendations as well.
If anyone can recommend good elementary schools that would be great. Our real estate agent mentioned that Clemson is high on the education list, but mainly because of Daniel High School. That's great for the future, but I want to make sure elementary and secondary school are up to par as well.
Would also like good neighborhoods, friendly people, etc. I don't want to be right in the city, but not far removed from grocery stores, shopping etc. Any suggestions would be great. Staci

Greenville, Anderson, and Charleston have a higher proportion of consistently high ranking schools. Little Abbeville gets pretty good marks, as well. My personal choice would be the Wade Hampton area of Taylors, and I am also partial to Ninety Six schools since that is where my family lives.

Sites like greatschools.org can give you numbers all day long, but at the end of the day, the onus really is on the parents and the children to learn what the teachers are teaching.

It might help people direct you to an area once they know where you will be working and a maximum house price or rental price.

Best of luck.
