Hello,
I've been down to the SC coast a few times and would like to move there. Winters are getting old here in the North East and I have a son who lives near Charlotte that I'd like to be closer to. I would really like to be near the ocean though - that is a dream come true for me.
I'll be down there in November to look around again so would appreciate any feedback at all. Last time I concentrated on the Pawley's Island/Murrells Inlet area and did like it, but I was thinking maybe I should also look around Little River or Shallotte, NC? Can anyone give me comparisons? It seems like the way it is in the South, is everything is located in strip plazas along Rt 17. I live in a small town in Massachusetts and it has a little "center" with coffee shops, that kind of thing, which is nice. Are there towns there that have that as well? Maybe I just missed that in March when I was last there.
I am 56 years old, have been a single Mom, raised 3 great kids and it's now "my turn"
. I'm not wealthy that's for sure!! But the neighborhoods I saw that I could afford was Spring Forest (over 55 in Murrells), Kings Grant, Hamilton Estates, or Pines of St James all in Murrells Inlet. I was doing a search the other day and also saw that I could find homes in Little River for the same price range.
I have found this place so useful for information and so look forward to all responses!!
Thank you!
