SC is set up as a weak Governor, strong Legislature form of government. This was done in the late 1800's as the Legislature was paranoid that a Black would become Governor so they stripped the Governor's power and gave it to themselves.

Yep, SC, as well as many other states, are still operating from a Reconstruction-era constitution.

Democrats sure talk about Haley a lot for somebody who has no power. Should have just not run against Haley with Sheheen and save a lot of money.

And yet we have people proclaiming she is going to be the death knell of South Carolina. Can't have it both ways.
