Looking to Relocate! Can you help?
Myself my husband and our 9year old are looking to relocate to South Carolina. We're looking for a small town with a population under 6,000 with low crime and decent schools. We don't need to be close to beaches or shopping centers or anything like that, although it would be ok.
Born and raised in a bigger city, the hustle and bustle, prices etc.. of the city just isn't suitable for us anymore.
So if you have any suggestions of towns with the above criteria that would be super.
Thank you!

You might want to take a look at Latta, SC. They have good schools in that area and it is a small town. It is located in the Pee Dee, not far from Florence

North Augusta
Check out North Augusta, SC. Nice small town, good schools, low crime, and all the amenities located across the river in Augusta GA. North Augusta, South Carolina's Riverfront

Liberty, SC would be a great choice. Also, Dacusville (an area, not a town), and Pickens, Williamston, and Pelzer. All of these are in the Upstate of South Carolina

I'd recommend Camden. Camden is a lovely, very historic small town in the Midlands.

I can't argue with Camden at all! I was a teenager in Camden and then moved to the Upstate of SC.

Hope it helps,

Conway, SC is also a very good small community which has a lot of history and culture. The Waccamaw River is close to downtown with a beautiful park for the family as well as watersports. The beach is only 15 minutes away so you have a lot of opportunity for fun family days at the beach with lots to do. Conway is far enough away so you can pick and choose your time at the beach when the tourist season is high. I love the small community feel.

It sounds like you are looking for more than just a "small town feel," but actually a real small town. I recommend in no particular order: - Pickens
- Dacusville
- Liberty
- Walhalla
- Pelzer
- West Pelzer
- Williamston
- Honea Path
- Belton
- Fountain Inn
- Landrum
