Default Anyone from the Anderson Area?

I posted this under a different tiltle and got no response, so I thought I'd put it under a new title.....

Greater Anderson is so spread out that I would appreciate any info on nice "inner city" areas, and nice areas on the outskirts like the Shoals, Meadow Fields. etc. Any insight would be appreciated.

A small cottage or bungalow (1200 sq. ft. or under) with an acre or so land for retirement would be our first choice, second would be an older small home in the safe area of the city.

We're fairly young retirees.

I recently looked along I-85 from the NC border down as far as Anderson. I was impressed with Anderson but found the housing to be slightly more than I wanted to pay. I had no idea how nice "Upstate SC" is and it certainly worth a look. I am buying in Boiling Springs which has much to offer retirees and has very reasonable real estate. If you have more money to spend I suggest looking along route 11.
IMO, "Upstate SC" has much to offer retirees, from the more modest to the richest, it is a beatuiful area. Give it a look.
