Default Taxes...please help me understand

I've figured out the formula for property taxes but can you help me understand everything else...
I have a home in NY assessed at $500,000 we pay @ $10,000 a year, from my calculations the same priced house in SC would cost $2400...Thats a really big difference.
Here that would include school taxes, sanitation, police/fire dept, etc....
Is that the same in SC?
I'm

Also, Can anyone give me an average cost for water, utilites etc...

We're looking in Anderson County. From what I've read I think Anderson County has city sewers.

Can anyone share any info on this. Every little bit helps!
Thanks so much!

Your calculations maybe a little off but probably not much. My taxes are about $1800 on half that in Greenville County. Anderson rates are probably different. BTW 500,000 will buy a very nice home here. Only thing that may not be included is sanitation but that only runs about $45/$50 a quarter and you get to shop around for who you want. Remember too, salaries will differ unless you've been given a transfer or perhaps some company has come recruiting you. All in all, though it will be cheaper than NY.

My water bill is roughly $150 each quarter. My electric is all over the board depending on the weather from a high of $160 for one month to a low of $67 but I tend to like it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
