My boyfriend and I are debating moving to South Carolina. We are from New England and want to try something new while we're not married and don't have kids. We are both in our mid 20's and would like an area that has a good amount of other people our age. We have been talking about some towns outside of Charleston (Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, James Island etc.), Bluffton, or Greenville. We don't want to live in the middle of a city but I would love to be near one. If anyone can share any information on these areas or other great towns in South Carolina, we would both appreciate it very much!!

Do you want to be closer to the ocean or to the mountains?

Hi everyone, I'm moving from Detroit, MI to Columbia, SC in a few months, I'm wondering if anyone can help me find an apartment in a suburban area, near shopping, movies, bowling, concerts etc.and Baptist churches. I don't have any children, it's just me and my hubby. He's an older gentlemen 60+, but thinks he's 21 (lol) I'm 46, we love to live life to the fullest.

PINK-DIAMOND, you may want to check out the "Columbia Area" forum for more information. The Columbia region has several suburban areas. It would be helpful to know which specific areas you may be interested in.

I'm new to this so I'm not sure if your question was directed toward me @ Carolina knight, but it doesn't matter to me.

I would concentrate on Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville in that order.

Interesting. Why that order?

I agree but I would insert Ft Mill before Greenville.

We live near the ocean now and I love it, but we also love mountains/lake areas. What are some good towns outside of Charleston for a young couple with no kids?
