Smile myrtle beach

Hi everyone, My dream is to live near the ocean and I am finally moving. YEAH....I have never been to myrtle Beach but that's where my son and I are going.. WOOHOO>> Carolina Forest to be exact.. We are moving from Palatine Illinois so we are used to lots of people and traffic. So many things to change. I am already surprised there is no comcast.net or chase bank in SC.. Any advice on anything would be helpful. thanks ..C U Soon

Coasters is on a distinguished road
Welcome to coastal paradise.
Check out SCtax.org to learn about low but confusing property tax. Check out funbeaches.com..all about Myrtle Beach. Look at the SCDMV website for new residents and call them in Horry County. They are used to it. Shop around for homeowners insurance and find out the premiums before you buy anything.
It's always fun to hear how people pick their dream destination, so please, if you care to share?

Hope it lives up to expectations. It's pretty touristy, but you might like it. (This shouldn't really be in the Columbia section, should it? Cola is a pretty long way from MB.) Don't worry about losing Comcast. They're the worst. Don't worry. You'll still have cable.

As for banks, I bank with Chase in Chicago, but used Wachovia when I was in the Carolinas. I was pleased with them.
