The Aiken County Council held a special meeting Tuesday to provide tax incentives for three projects the county is not yet disclosing. The three projects are being called Project Texas Wedge one, Texas Wedge two and Project Satyr. The projects are estimated to bring 15 million dollar investments into the county, and while the County of Aiken says the project will promote industrial growth, leaders did not specify whether the project is a factory.
Councilman Andrew Siders could not disclose much about the project but did say it is good news for Aiken County. He said, “the budgets are tight and this is a situation that we can have an increased revenue and it doesn’t cost us anything so it’s a win, win for everyone.”
A former, secret Aiken County Project was Project Locker which ended up being the Scuttles Island Water Park Project.
In addition to "Project Locker," "Project Buy" was fulfilled with AmbioPharm in North Augusta. "Project Sand" remains to be fulfilled. These economic development projects should help continue to create jobs and invest in Aiken County.
