Edisto Village is a retail center located at the southeast corner of Riverside Drive/Stonewall Jackson Street and John C. Calhoun Drive in the City of Orangeburg in Orangeburg County, South Carolina. It is anchored by Bi-Lo #5513.

Bi-Lo #5513 likely replaced an adjacent older store, partly occupied by Maxway, Simply Fashion, and Rent-A-Center, in 1994. It underwent an update nearly five years ago.
Bi-Lo #5513 is speculated to be up for closure. Walmart Neighborhood Market #3724, 332 Stonewall Jackson Street Southwest, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29115-7251, which opened in January 2015, has increased competition.

Several Bi-Lo stores statewide within proximity of Walmart's Supercenter and Neighborhood Market stores have closed or are in the process of closing. I doubt Bi-Lo has been able to step up and find ways to compete against Walmart.
Interesting. I grew up going grocery shopping with my mom at that Bi-Lo; I still remember when the CVS (formerly Revco) was on the other end of that strip and Sky City was adjacent to it where the furniture store (Babcock I believe) now is.

I think Badcock #171 (339 Stonewall Jackson Street Southwest, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29115-7292) and Bi-Lo #5513 combined made up the footprint of Sky City. I assume Badcock #171 took up the end division of Sky City, then the rest was razed to construct Bi-Lo #5513.
The former Family Dollar at 459 Stonewall Jackson Street Southwest, Orangeburg, South Carolina 29115-7292, still has the recognizable Revco storefront.

BI-LO #5513 could not compete against Walmart Neighborhood Market #3724.
I would not be surprised if there are additional BI-LO stores across South Carolina closing with a Walmart Neighborhood Market or a Walmart Supercenter as a direct competitor.
