I have Samsung Pay on my phone, which is great to have my credit card on my phone so that there is no need to toke around a credit card, but I'm finding there in no place in the low country where I can use it.

Anyone with Samsung Pay able to use it here in SC....maybe in the upstate area or in Columbia?

Should work on any machine with a magnetic strip reader. I use it. Most vendors don't understand it, so they'll say it doesn't work. It does. It's different from Apple pay and Android pay where the card reader has to be nfc capable.

The credit card linked to it has to be issued from one of the big banks, too. It doesn't work with my S7 Edge even though I meet all the other reqs because my credit union card isn't supported.

This is the link to the supported banks and partners.

Which banks and credit cards are compatible with Samsung Pay?

That's probably its biggest drawback currently. Works with my Wells Fargo, but not credit union. I can use them all with Android pay.

Well, I have a Samsung Note 5 with Samsung Pay installed and credit cards input to the app. I have yet to find a place that this danged App will work. I tried Walmart yesterday and that was a no go. I tried Belk, BI-LO and Harris Teeter and no go at any of those places. I'll keep trying. When they tell me at the cash register that it won't work, I try anyhow, but they are right, it does not work. I get some message stating 'error blah blah'.

A few months ago Samsung had a deal where you could purchase 50.00 gift cards for 40.00 using Samsung Pay. I was able to use it for those and it worked fine but not at any retailer.

For those that have Samsung Pay, check your app to see if you have the promo where if you use Samsung Pay to make 3 purchases, they give you $30.00. Check 'more' and then go to 'events. I just can't find the 3 places that will accept Samsung Pay.

I'm not sure what to tell you. Do you have a case on your device? If so, is it clear/see through?

I have an Otterbox Communter case that I tried removing before using and still didn't go thru. My card does have a chip so wondering if that is causing an issue I'm not going to worry about it anymore but will keep trying and hopefully I'll have better luck down the road.

Thanks for the responses everyone!

I'm not sure if that's it, but I guess it could be. Who is your carrier?

Your card can have a chip and still not be among the applicable "vendors". Did you check that list to see if your bank is approved?
