Wow Ranger Duke called me a valleygirl....lol....I'm a man with a fiancee...lol...i need to go re-read what i typed...lol...
But what i've noticed is i love to look at beautiful terrains, vistas and etc...but I've fallen in love with Columbia more since not living there currently. I'm in Savannah, GA and i can honestly say it's okay to live here, but a better place to visit. For every right this city has done over the years [the port, parks, preserving history, the squares and etc]...it seems like they've done just as much wrong [poor infrastructure {very irritating to drive around}, poor city services {the $$$ for EMS service, no recycle service and etc}, stagnant growth and etc]. Here's something that i dislike....River St...yeah i said it...while the shops and everything is nice...that area of the Savannah river isn't beautiful...it's nothing worse than gazing into the river and a cargo boat floats by...lol...or a tub Army, Navy or Coast Guard ship blocking part of the view...I understand they need the river for the port too, but it takes away from the potential when you are looking at the Westin across the river and then you look to the left and it's trash and old tires on the east bank of the river....
it's a wonderful city, but i know that it's not where i want to spend the rest of my live.

I had a terrific Headhunter (Marshal Moore from Charlotte) who died of cancer. Can anyone help me find an agressive Banking Head Hunter in the Carolina's???????

What have you decided? We are in Indy currently and plan to move this summer to the Greenville or the surrounding area. Can you compare the areas with Hamilton County in Indiana?

Probably either Charleston (coastal) or Greenville (mountains/foothills). If you have the budget, The Cascades at Verdae are above and beyond any place else you could find for a well-planned retirement village in the entire state. The development was recognized as the nation's best proposed active retirement community in 2008 by The National Active Retirement Association, and is now looking very beautiful and impressive as construction continues to make progress.

I would just as easily thrown in Aiken and Columbia also.
At any rate, this should help in the decision-making process.

NO city in SC is "safe' (US standards) or has good schools, but for my money Folly Beach is as good as it gets there:
THere's the ocean, a smattering of truly local culture, the security (against local reality) provided by Folly River and its single bridge, plus the knnowledge that ma nature (via a hurricane) will clean the place up on a regular basis.
