Default growing towns

I recently spent some time in Lexington, SC. I noticed alot of new homes going up and that made me think of maybe investing in some realestate in the area. Now I'm wondering what would be drawing people to live in Lexington or the surrounding towns. Is Columbia growing enough to support all the building going on in Lexington? What new businesses are opening in the area to attract new residents.

Lexington has been experiencing pretty good economic growth as of late. The biggest announcement as of late is that SCANA Corporation, one of the region's largest employers, will be relocating from downtown Columbia to a campus on land it owns in Lexington County.
