My family and I will be traveling south to Florida on Friday and will have to stop for breakfast somewhere along 95 South. Can anyone recommend a good non-chain breakfast spot to hit up? (No Denny's, Waffle House, IHOP, etc.) We enjoy diners and pancake houses with good bacon and coffee. It doesn't have to be just off an exit but not wanting to venture more than a few miles off I-95. We were severely disappointed in the Summerton Diner on our last trip and looking forward to your suggestions!

It is hard to pass up on Waffle House. It is usually healthy and delicious.

I would recommend Julia Belles, but they don't open until 11 am. They have awesome food! They do have chicken and waffles that is great too.

There is a Cracker Barrel off I-95 in Florence. It is a chain but about as good as it gets for breakfast food.

If you are looking for something a bit more high end (not too high end) check out Victor's in downtown Florence. Its about 2-3 mins off the interstate but its worth it!

Clark's in Santee has a good breakfast. Santee is at exit 98. Almost exactly half way through the state.
