The special meeting will take place at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers of the Aiken County Government Center, 1930 University Parkway in Aiken.
County Council is slated to take up first reading of an ordinance regarding an incentive agreement for a project dubbed Project Wilcox in Council documents.
No further information on the project is available at this time. Traditionally, projects are named by the third reading of the agreement. Three votes are required before it is final.
Before the vote, Aiken County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sean Alford will make a presentation to County Council about the Aiken Works program, according to County Administrator Clay Killian.
Aiken Works is a new marketing campaign that School District officials have said will highlight opportunities for local students, including attending four-year or two-year colleges and universities or working in industry and manufacturing.
Earlier this year, the district announced plans to soon launch the campaign on billboards and other media in the Aiken-Augusta area.
