My guess for where the plant will be if it's NC is either somewhere between Wilmington and Myrtle Beach, or the Lumberton/Fayettville area to take advantage of the Dillon inland port.
It would be sad if South Carolina is indeed out of contention for the Toyota-Mazda plant. South Carolina could use the economic investment and jobs.
Every state could but I'm not surprised that SC is out of the running given that it just landed Volvo not too long ago, which seems to be the better deal between it and Mazda-Toyota.

A megasite in Randolph County seems to be the frontrunner for an NC location.
Domtar dropped out of the F500 last year, so that means SC's number of F500's is now 0. Landing the plant would've been great from a job perspective, but I do hope SC will eventually start competing and get more agreesive in more of a white collar, professional market as well.
Especially with all this incoming growth into Charleston, Greenville, and Columbia.
